Every Child Hooked on Sport for Life
Giving young people a voice
We want every child to experience the positive benefits that
participating in sport brings.
Not solely the health benefits, but the confidence and new
skills, such as leadership, that participation enables. We want to
give young people a voice and encourage them to inspire their peers
to become hooked on sport for life.
Through
our successful programmes, where children are taught movement
skills and have the confidence to participate in sports and
activities that will excite and engage them for life, education has
a vital role to play.
Schools are central to the physical education, health and
wellbeing of every child. And the role of the teacher is
paramount. We need more teachers who are competent, confident
and enthusiastic about teaching PE and further commitment to
teacher training.
We need greater opportunities for children to continue and
progress with their love for sport, in clubs beyond school hours,
and as they leave school. The links between provision in school and
in communities is absolutely critical if we are to achieve our
aspiration of engaging children and young people for life.
Our aspiration
Our aspiration is to help create vibrant environments where club
membership continues to grow, and where there is a wide variety of
sports, from competitive teams to recreational activities; all
designed to inspire all young people to become and remain active
for life.
