We strongly believe in sport for all and are fully committed to diversity, ensuring the services we provide, facilities we control and people we employ are available to all.

Our Equality Scheme outlines our proactive approach to inclusion and sets out our commitment in working towards achieving equality across all of our functions.

Our Priorities

  • Continuation of work to increase female representation in all aspects of sport.
  • Continuation of work to increase participation amongst disabled people, particularly in relation to the AYP programmes and in coaching roles.
  • Expansion of data collation to include Disability and Ethnicity.
  • Conduct bespoke research in relation to ethnicity.

  • Undertake consultation, specifically in relation to Ethnicity and Disability.

Disability Sport Wales ar just one of the organisations we work withWho we work with

Federation of Disability Sport Wales (FDSW) - a pan-disability National Governing Body of Sport which aims to promote and develop quality sports opportunities. Through its community programme, local Development Officers are deployed across Wales.

Local Authorities - our 'Local Authority Partnership Agreements' set out targets and intervention for reducing inequities locally.

NGBS - we encourage NGBs to consider their membership, and support them in achieving the Equality Standard for Sport.

UK Sports Councils - we are part of a UK wide group that comes together to disseminate legal requirements and to share practice.
