Why volunteer?
We are looking for volunteers to help everyone take part in
sport. And of course when we say volunteers, this can be anything
from coaches, kit washers, grass mowers, and even orange cutter
upper-ers.
Our aspirations
Our Coaching
Strategy 2010-2016 sets out very ambitious targets for us to
get 10% of the Welsh population actively involved in coaching and
volunteering in sport. Based on the current popualtion that's an
increase from 113,000 to 240,000.
So why not get involved?
Before you think you may not have time to help out and
volunteer, think again. You may only need to come along for one or
two hours every week, pretty much whatever suits best. And
volunteering is a rewarding and satisfying way to put something
back into your community.
But why else should you volunteer?
- Recognition of your commitment to helping your community
- Opportunity to make a difference
- Gain work experience, which can be added to your CV
- Opportunity to gain additional qualifications such as coaching
badges
- Training and devleopment opportunities
Don't just take out word for it!
People all across Wales are making a difference to sport in
their community. Find out more about how 90 year old Betty
Gray has dedicated over 50 years to table tennis in Swansea.
Inspirtational stuff I am sure you'll agree.
We have some videos as well which you can find in the navigation
on the right hand side of this page so check them out.
So what are you waiting for?
So if you have been inspired by Betty's story, or fancy giving
something back to sport in your community, sign up today via our
online 'Behind Every Star' registration form.
We look forward to you joining our team.
