What is Get Set?

The British Olympic Association and the British Paralympic Association have partnered together to deliverGet Setas part of the legacy of the London 2012 education programme.

The official London 2012 education programme aims to:

  • Enhance young people's learning right across the curriculum - through sport, culture and education.
  • Support and drive existing educational priorities and agendas.
  • To involve as many children and young people as possible in the excitement surrounding the legacy of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
  • To take the magic and inspiration of the London 2012 Games out to classrooms, playgrounds and into the lives of young people across the UK.
  • To support children and young people across the UK in the development of their leadership, personal, thinking and life skills.

Since the London Games, the Get Set webpage has had a makeover, following feedback from teachers and school leaders about what should be kept the same from the old website, and what could be improved.

 

How to get involved?

If you were registered with Get Set before the London 2012 Games, and you didn't opt out of your details being passed across, you are already registered. Just activate your account and you can start exploring the new website.

If you are new to Get Set, it's simple, quick and free to register. Once you have a username and password you can access everything on the site.

 

What has happened across Wales so far?

There are already some great examples of how schools in Wales are benefiting from Get Set.

Gold Young Ambassadors can sign their own schools up to Get Set, so if you're a Gold Ambassador, what are you waiting for, follow the instructions above and register your school.
