Darren Harris has previous experience of competing at a
Paralympic Games, but not as a footballer. He competed in Beijing
2008 as a judoka after scooping a silver medal at the European
Championships the previous May in Azerbaijan.
Darren has always had a passion for football and has formerly
captained the blind football squad, with his goal-scoring prowess
becoming instrumental to the team's 2008 Paralympic qualification.
However he decided to swap the pitch for the dojo for the
Games.
Having now returned to the football pitch, Darren will be
competing alongside fellow Welshman Keryn Seal.
Darren plays for West Brom's visually impaired football team and
is currently splitting his time between the West Midlands and Bath.
Since returning to football he has collected a further 11
international caps, taking his total to date to 95.
