Warburton already had one Commonwealth Games under his belt
after travelling to Melbourne. But in Delhi 2010, he doubled his
distance and stepped up from 400m to 800m.
The Caernarfon runner - who started out as a promising rugby
player - just missed out on the medals when he placed
4th.
He juggles training with a part-time job in UWIC's library. He
has now been competing for more than 10 years.
Gareth classes winning a relay silver in the European Indoor
Championships 2005 as one of his career highlights so far. But that
is surely surpassed by his Olympic debut at London 2012.
He finished fifth in the third heat of the 800m with a time of
1:46:97.
