Lynsey Holdaway made her boxing debut in 2006 after growing up
running in cross country races for Wales and playing netball,
hockey, football and cricket.
Gaining a wealth of experience from boxing across Europe,
Merthyr Tydfil's Lynsey firmly made her mark in 2011 by scooping
the silver medal at the European Championships in Rotterdam.
The 26 year-old reached the quarter finals of the Women's World
Championships 2010 in Barbados, stepping up from her regular
46kg division to the unfamiliar 51kg class.
Later that year Lynsey fought her way to the final of the GB
Amateur Boxing Championship, at Liverpool's Echo Arena, with
victory over Ruth Raper but lost out in the title decider to GB
Podium Squad member, and double World silver medallist, Nicola
Adams.
