Competing at her fourth Paralympic Games in London, 32 year-old
Nyree Kindred returned to competitive waters after welcoming her
daughter to the world in June 2011
With nine Paralympic medals (two gold, four silver, three
bronze) already in the bag hopes were high for the
Rhondda's Kindred; and she didn't disappoint. Breaking the
Paralympic record in the S6 100m backstroke heats, Kindred
qualified fastest for the final and swam to silver.
Married to fellow swimmer Sascha Kindred, Nyree became a member
of the GB team in 1999 and has gone on to become one of Wales' most
decorated swimmers.
