49 year-old Robert is one of the most experienced members of the
men's bowls squad, after winning two golds, three silvers and a
bronze in previous Commonwealth Games, and carrying the Welsh team
flag in Kuala Lumpur 1998. He has been competing for Wales since
1982.
The Herefordshire Housing Limited employee holds a record 91
caps and as well as his Commonwealth Games medals, has won gold in
the pairs and bronze in the fours at the 2009 Atlantic
Championships. He is nicknamedThe Silent Assassin.
He was introduced to the sport through his Dad and his Dad's
friend and splits his training time between the outdoor green at
Presteigne and indoor in Islwyn.
