With a desire to work in Psychology from a young age, Catherine
decided to combine her love for sport with her chosen career path
and, after completing a BSc in Psychology, began working for Sport
Wales in 2002.
In her day to day role Catherine predominantly works with
athletes from the worlds of disability sport, swimming, boxing and
bowls, supporting them to become aware of what helps them to
achieve their best in terms of performance.
From motivation and focus to confidence, Catherine helps
athletes aiming for success at major games, such as Commonwealth
Games, Olympics and Paralympics work out what thoughts and
behaviours are more likely to lead to medal winning
performances.
Catherine has earned a wealth of experience in her field having
worked at two Commonwealth Games (Melbourne 2006 and Delhi 2010),
the Commonwealth Youth Games in Pune 2008, at countless European
and British Championships for swimming, boxing, squash, table
tennis, bowls, hockey and netball and as part of the HQ team for
the Beijing Paralympic Games.
