Jane's career in sports physiotherapy began in 1988 when, whilst
working for the National Health Service in London, she began
working for London Welsh RFC as their team physiotherapist.
In the six years that Jane worked for London Welsh she also
completed a post-graduate diploma in practical and academic
physiotherapy for sports at the Royal London Hospital department of
sports medicine.
1994 saw Jane move back to her home town of Cardiff and begin an
11 year stint with Cardiff RFC, during which rugby turned
professional, and eventually Welsh rugby turned regional, meaning
that she also worked for the Cardiff Blues regional squad.
Rugby has played a starring role in Jane's career as she also
worked for the Wales U21 rugby squad for three seasons, and covered
for the Wales Sevens squad at tournaments in Paris and Japan.
Following a short career break, Jane worked for Dean Conway
Associates based at Glamorgan County Cricket Club and the National
Indoor Athletics Centre, where she also covered maternity leave at
Sport Wales.
Jane has been with Sport Wales ever since and is now heavily
involved with athletes from Disability Sport Wales, shooting and
judo.
Jane said;
"Sport Wales has excellent physiotherapy and hydrotherapy
facilities, and it is very rewarding to work with the athletes from
injury through to rehabilitation and back to full sporting
performance."
