Matt has been working at Sport Wales for three years delivering strength and conditioning to support Commonwealth, Olympic and Paralympic athletes.

His role is to physically prepare the athletes for the specific demands of their sport.

After achieving a BSc (Hons) in Sport and Exercise Science from Exeter Universit, the UKSCA accredited strength and conditioning coach began working in the field of strength and conditioning in 2004 where he provided support to Exeter University's sport teams and the high performance tennis centre.

2007 saw him move to Cardiff to study for a Masters in Coaching Science, where he worked with UWIC's athletics and tennis squads.

Matt began working for Sport Wales at the beginning of 2008, delivering strength and conditioning support to various sporting disciplines including badminton, sailing, table tennis, athletics, judo, tennis, sprint cycling, bobsleigh and Paralympic disciplines.

His main areas of expertise lie in the field of strength and power development and main interests include strength and power diagnosis, long term athlete development and the stretch shortening cycle.
