What is Get Set?
Get Set is the official London 2012 education programme. It aims
to:
- Enhance young people's learning right across the curriculum -
through sport, culture and education
- Support and drive existing educational priorities and
agendas
- To involve as many children and young people as possible in the
excitement of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
- To take the magic and inspiration of the London 2012 Games out
to classrooms, playgrounds and into the lives of young people
across the UK.
- To support children and young people across the UK in the
development of their leadership, personal, thinking and life
skills.

Why should your school sign up?
Do you fancy tickets to the Olympic Games for you and your
classmates, visits from athletes or from Wenlock and
Mandeville the London 2012 mascots?
If so, sign up to Get Set today because these are just
some of the benefits you will receive by signing up to the
network.
How do you get involved?
Signing up is easy. You can do it all online. Follow these simple steps to sign
up today:
- Register your school on the Get Set website. Registration
is simple. Once your school has been approved you will receive
confirmation from LOCOG that you have completed the first stage of
sign up.
- You then need to ensure that you sign up to the Get Set network
to access all the free videos and handy tips. To fully join the
network you will need to answer 3 simple questions
- why did you get involved in Get Set, summarise what
you and your students have done/are doing to demonstrate a
commitment to the Olympic and Paralympic Values and what plans do
you have to continue this work in the future. You can submit this

- Make the most of all the great videos, handy hints and tips on
how you can maximise the impact of the 2012 London Olympic and
Paralympic Games.
You don't have to be London 2012 mad.
If you want to re-design your entire curriculum around the
games then thats great, but there are lots of simple things
you can do aswell like link school assemblies to the Olympic and
paralympic vlaues or use any of the greta Get Set resources which
are available once you sign up.

Whats happenning across Wales?
There are already some great examples of how schools in Wales
are benefiting from Get Set. To find out which schools have signed

Young Ambassador Toolkit:
Gold Young Ambassadors can sign their own schools up to Get Set.
So if your a Gold Ambassador then what are you waiting for, follow
the points above to register your school.
However, that doesn't mean that you can't also encourage other
schools in your area to sign up so we have helped you out with some

word about Get Set.
