What is Active Places Cymru?

Active Places Cymru is the Number 1 website for information about sports facilities in Wales.

Developed and maintained by Sport Wales, it provides comprehensive data on sports facilities in Wales.  Information is held within a Geographical Information System (GIS) to enable users to search spatially.

Why use Active Places Cymru?

• contains details of more than 2,000 facilities at around 800 sites in Wales; facilities included are sports halls, swimming pools, squash courts, golf courses and driving ranges, synthetic turf pitches, athletics tracks, indoor tennis centres, indoor bowls halls, indoor athletics facilities, health and fitness suites, studios, ski slopes, ice rinks, outdoor tennis courts and bowling greens;
• information is checked and updated regularly;
• users are able to search spatially using a range of search techniques;
• users can personalise the Website so that the map opens focused on their postcode;
• users can access comprehensive information about facilities including dimensions, changing provision, opening times, disability access and car parking provision;
• users have the choice on whether they access the English language or Welsh language site.
